The original 1932 English Edition published by Henry Holt And Company is quite rare. My copy is a first edition (NAP). Henry Holt first editions are identified by NAP (no additional printings) up until the mid-1940s. As you can see from the photos, the covers are in pretty nice condition. They have a few little white specks of color loss. The original labels on the front and spine are present and in very good condition. There's light wear at the spine ends and a thin discoloration on the rear cover. The top page edge is a similar color to the covers. The book is square and very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout. The pages are very clean. I'm not seeing any soiling at all. The tip of the top corner of pages xiii through 14 has a crease. These top corner got a little squinched and I've flattened them out. There's also a very light top corner semi-crease (more like a little bend) on the last 25 pages. There is a small stamped 'DUP.' at the top right-hand corner of the blank first front end paper. There are no other markings to be found anywhere in the book. There is no writing to be found anywhere in the book, with the exception of a penciled '#350.00 'off the bottom edge of the rear inside cover. And that covers condition. A very rare book offered at a very low price. 'In this classic written in the early 1930's, Dr. Tillich interprets the significance of the revolt against capitalist civilization. He believes that a new attitude is developing as a consequence of these revolutions which may be described in religious terms as an attitude of "belief-ful realism." Religion for Tillich is "direction toward the Unconditioned." It is the reference in all of life to the ultimate source of meaning and to the ultimate ground of being.'. Seller Inventory # 002969
