One of 400 copies (of 450, plus 6 specially bound). Small 4to. Quarter yellow cloth. Unpaginated (60pp.). This example with both the unused jacket and the usual printed glassine. One of Raworth's literary executors, Miles Champion, has suggested that the experiment of this different cover (printed with a blue/grey and black image and purple text) was abandoned perhaps partly due to the illegibility of the text. It is worth adding that the spine is titled by hand and that the panels other than the front are unprinted, which gives it the look of a proof (although, admittedly, the finished glassine jacket on regular copies is only printed on the front). There are only a few other known copies with the abandoned jacket. One illustration present twice (not included in the above collation, and not at the expense of another); that aside, spotted to the edges (primarily the head edge), the glassine somewhat ragged at the head, a little marked around the spine, and somewhat spotted/splashed to the lower panel, the unused jacket unobtrusively discoloured at the base of the spine (perhaps from water damage) and with a couple of pocks to the upper flap fold, though generally crisp.
