# AS PICTURED # FIRST EDITION, First Printing, MDCCCLXXXIII (1883). 8vo; grey-blue cloth with elaborate gilt title decorations front and spine, blind impressed rulings by bevelled edges. Somewhat darkened after 140 years, but without significant wear, apart from some rubbing to spine ends and corners. Gilt all bright and clear. xii + 382pp + 6pp Blackwoods ads. Brown eps splitting to show a little backing material at gutters, but holding firm. Dust-stained pages block edges, with a speckling of light foxing, but MERCIFULLY very little indeed foxing throughout the text. Predominantly tight, bright and clean.
