About this Item
First edition. 8vo. 4pp. advertisements. Original cloth. Photostat dust-jacket. Browning to upper fore-corner of front pastedown and to lesser degree front free endpaper, some very light spotting; minor rubbing to extremities of cloth, very slight rolling to spine, but overall very good. A very good copy of this essential detective fiction whodunit, set in a country house in rural England. This was Macdonald's first book, and introduced the author's series character, amateur detective Colonel Anthony Gethryn. The mind boggles to think what a copy of this keystone work in the original dust-jacket would be worth these days. Seller Inventory # 82425
