Early half-leather and grey boards, with gilt-paneled sp. lettering; grey board covers inevitably have some darker marking patches, though these on fr. Vol.!! (i.e. Vol.1) and back Vol.12 (i.e. Vol.2), both spines rubbed with serious chipping to lower Vol.12 but his now well relaid on matching leather, Vol.11 also has several chips and again has been relaid on matching leather, these spines appear to be very early, perhaps as first basically bound with the grey boards, outer leather corners leather a little rubbed also. Vol. 11 (1st Vol. of this title): map ot the Eastern Districts across 1st opening after fr. end-paper + 32 +411 + (4, author list); fr. pastedown re-laid, corners of this and end-paper tanned with slight chipping to corners. the remainder of text-block and rear end-papers are fine but have faint stamp of 'Lawes Agricultural Trust' on pastedown, one outer edge protruding due to a production fault. Vol. 12 (2nd Vol. of this title); map of Western Districts across first opening after end-paper as previous + xxxii + 416 +(8, Index to both volumes); fr. pastedown relaid, touch of tanning to corners but only top inner corner slightly chipped and facing - end-paper okay, faint stamp of 'Lawes Agricultural Trust' to each pastedown. Tiny black ink numbers to top outer corners of paste-downs to each volume. Despite minor faults, which sound worse for being fully detailed, this remains a very sound copy apparently as originally issued, with both maps in good condition.
