Original green cloth, lettered in black and decorated in red and black. Previous owner book-plate to the front paste-down. Some splitting at the front interior hinge but the book remains very strong - the injury being largely cosmetic. From the "Town And Country Library No. 246." With six pages of ads to the rear. Dartt - pp 108-109, 1971 ed. Even though I am confident that this is the first US edition, the data from Dartt is pretty slim. Just a note in passing that Syracuse University Library has a copy. Newbolt has a lot to say about the various UK imprints but is silent regarding the US appearance. This copy is slightly soiled to the front panel. Very Good. Seller Inventory # 019366
