A handy little volume designed to be carried by prospectors on their way to the Klondike Gold Rush. "This work contains a Careful Compilation of all the Mining Laws, and All The Public Land Laws now in force: of Alaska, of the Northwest Territory, and of the Province of British Columbia. The United States Mining Laws and Regulations are also Inserted in Full." Bound in legal calf with two worn spine labels. Includes a two page map reduced in size of the Yukon River and its tributaries published by Department of the Interior, Ottawa 1897. Tipped in at the front is a Supplement for the land and mining laws of the Provisional District of Yukon, almost all of which is missing except for the title page and last page which is numbered 789. The volume was exposed to fire at some point leaving scorch marks on the lower covers and first few and last several pages. Several owner's stamps on preliminary pages and one older owner's signature dated 1893. Covers worn but binding solid with erosion at the head of the spine. 776 pp. Seller Inventory # 32321
