The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie by Muriel Spark, Hardcover, First UK Edition (1961). Book in very good condition, in a similar unclipped dust jacket. The book has slight bumping to the spine ends and minor ageing to the page edges. The dust jacket shows some general wear and ageing, including internally. Overall a very good, clean and tight copy of this book. (See pictures). This book brought the author into international acclaim and the first rank of contemporary Scottish literature. The novel was chosen by Time magazine in 2005 as one of the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present day. The book was also made into a successful 1969 British drama film directed by Ronald Nearne and starring Maggie Smith in the title role.
