1st edition hardcover in cream paper covered boards showing light color soil but no major rubs. No names, tears or soil. 124 pp. Un-clipped, original dj in new mylar shows handling soil on cream background of rear panel but still displays well. Jane and Penny Brooke were thrilled with their father bought them, on a trial bases, a pony called Freckles. The important condition Mr. Brooke insisted upon was that the girls had to prove they knew how to care for it. For all their enthusiasm, Jane and Penny had to learn the hard way, especially since Freckles seemed to have a knack for getting into trouble - what it means to have A Pony In The Family. This is a pony story with a difference. The background skillfully provides valuable information with excellent illustrations, telling exactly how to keep, train and tend to a pony.
