Decorative staining to top edges. Decorative marbled staining to fore and bottom edges. Marbled endpapers. Frontispiece (sepia photograph of the author). 2 cm by 1 cm area of loss to head of spine. Spine cracked along joints with boards. Spine and extremities of boards rubbed. Ovular area of upper board slightly dulled. Top left corner of frontispiece portrait chipped.
