Attractive older book with brown boards and a brown cloth spine and corners. The spine has paper spine labels, which are tanned and a little chipped, and horizontal raised bars. Nice thick paper with rough cut edges, black and white illustrations. Humorous essays from the early 19th century, some originally published in 'The Yale Review' and 'The New Republic'. 12 essays, includes "On Buying Old Books". FFEP has been removed. Owner name on glued down endpaper at front and small blue Brentanos, N.Y. sticker at back. 139 pp. Antiquarian. Seller Inventory # 002412
