149-168pp. Drop-head title. With an engraved folding plate depicting aspects of the anatomy of a paroquet. Bound in recent blue paper boards. Leaves browned and foxed. The illustrated article in this issue, entitled; Some Observations in the Dissection of a Paroquet, by then editor of Philosophical Transactions, naturalist Richard Waller (d.1715), provides a brief analysis of the composition of said bird in comparison to other parrot species. Philosophical Transactions, latterly The Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, was established in 1665 as the first journal dedicated to the publication of new and often revolutionary discoveries, experimental research and speculative essays within natural philosophy. Over the years the Philosophical Transactions have been home to the most important scientific authors and luminaries in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and zoology; including Isaac Newton, Robert Hooke, Robert Boyle, Michael Faraday, and Charles Darwin.
