The book written after the success of Charles Reade's play " Masks and Faces ", about the life of Peg Woffington. Written by Dramatist and author Charles Reade . Charles Reade was said to have an eye for scene, situation and dialogue, a very popular and prolific author of his times. Charles Reade was an English novelist and dramatist, best known for The Cloister and the Hearth.
