About this Item
Hardcover, original jacket, 134 pages. [First edition]. Ooty is short for Ootacamund, once one of the most popular hill stations in Raj-era India. The author spent considerable time there in the 60s, and nostalgically reflects on the town's history and present day, showing what it was like in its heyday - flower shows, clubs, hunting and dog shows, and the people -- and at the time of writing. With frontispiece and 12 other illustrations. Very good plus condition. Top right corner of book and jacket bumped, browning to part of endpapers, tightly bound, jacket not price clipped.
