Quarto. Unpaginated, 18 leaves. Original white string-bound wraps with blind-stamped embossed illustration and red and black lettering on cover. Title page printed in red and black. Decorative historiated and decorative initials. "The object of this illustrated booklet is to give some assistance to the amateur by showing a few fine examples representing various periods of Chinese ceramic art, and by furnishing an outline of its great and ancient history." (Introduction). Contains ceramic samples of the Han, Sung, Ming, with an additional vase from the time of emperor Ching-Hwa, and the Ch'ing dynasties, plus one vase each from the times of the emperors Yung-Ching and Kien-Lung. The seven full page color offset reproductions of exceptional ceramics are printed to glossy paper. Front and back covers with some wear along edges, small chips and closed tears, both of them loose.
