1923. First edition. xix, [iii], 182pp. Top edge gilt. Although Anthony Trollope is besat known as a novelist, he also wrote two plays. The Noble Jilt was written in 1850 but not published until 1923, and is the basis for one of his best known novels - 'Can You Forgive Her.' The book is bound in the original red cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and an embossed design on both boards. The case of the book is in very good condition with light shelf wear on the boards and bumping to the bottom of the spine. The contents are tight and clean with some foxing on the back of the free endpapers and the half-title page and some light foxing marks on the title page. There is a small private ex-libris label on the front fixed endpaper but no inscription. Seller Inventory # LitTrol069
