About this Item
24 pages. 180x120mm. Original printed wrappers. James Martin Gillis (1876-1957) was born of Irish parentage in Boston, Massachusetts. Ordained to the priesthood in New York in 1901, as a member of the Paulist Fathers he had a long career in radio broadcasting and journalism. On the subject of religious persecution in Russia he states in this pamphlet that: "Some ultra-liberal papers have been trying desperately to convince indignant Christians here and abroad that there is no religious persecution in Russia! The simplicity and naiveté of the New York 'Nation' (to mention the ablest of the pro-Bolshevist papers) would be edifying if one could believe it to be genuine." Slight wear but overall a very good copy of this rare publication, without any damage, library stamps, inscriptions or other markings. *** Lower than average weight - shipping charge will be reduced at processing stage of order. ***.
