8vo. (22 cm.) [10]1-61p. Laid in is a handwritten letter "From the desk of Frank Landiks, Jr." to Jim (?) in which he singles out several poems in this book and explains the person who was its subject. Blue cloth with gilt letters and decorations on the front cover and the spine. Just touches of wear to extremities clean and bright, gilt bright (!), else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Born in Seward, Nebraska, Frank E. Landis [1913-1983] held degrees from the University of Nebraska: A.B. (1935 ) and M.A. and LL.B (1937 ). Landis served as president of the Lincoln Building Corporation and served on the State Board of Education. He was an active figure in local Republican Party efforts, and in 1952, he served as a delegate to the party?s national convention. Landis was also a member of the American Legion, as well as various professional and social organizations.
