(iv), pp449-728, 1p errata, 11 illustrations, as listed, 159 extra maps, including a fine folded Speed map (1665), views of churches, towns, villages and houses across Buckinghamshire, including Cliveden, Eton, Stowe, 6 beautiful hand-coloured double-page plates of Great Marlow, Pangbourne, Whitchurch etc, text is heavily foxed but the plates are very clean, in this volume is almost every print to feature Buckinghamshire published in the eighteenth and early nineteenth century, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, bound in nineteenth century red half leather and grained cloth, banded spine with elaborate gilt decoration in the panels, small red paint marks to spine (see photo). The Old Hall Bookshop was established in 1977 by John and Lady Juliet Townsend. The Old Hall is a very fine 18th century house in the centre of Brackley, a pleasant market town about 18 miles north of Oxford. The shop has a large stock of antiquarian, secondhand, new books and maps covering a wide range of interests and prices. We welcome visitors and trade customers. Parking is easy in the Market Square. Disabled access available. Opening hours: We are open every day except Sunday and Bank holidays, from 10am to 5:30pm. We attend a number of Book Fairs each year.
