About this Item
Lithograph; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 6 pages; [No date given] Circa 1855. Large format sheet music in original illustrated wraps. A six sheet piece of music by Charles Grobe, "respectfully inscribed to the Young Ladies of Linden Hall (formerly Young Ladies Institute)." The front cover, printed in stone lithography, depicts the "rear view" of the Linden Hall grounds mid 19th entury. Music notation comnprises three sheets with no linguistic content; the rear page is publisher ads. Some light soiling to covers and separation at folds. Trace glue residue at spine edge suggests the piece was at one time bound in a collection. Quite scarce with only two copies recorded on OCLC database records. A nice early ephemeral piece related to the oldest girls boarding/day school in the U.S. G++. Seller Inventory # 22565
