First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. green cloth decorated simply in black and gilt, worn and bumped, rear inner hinge crudely repaired, front inner hinge cracked, text block shaken but generally clean - a few brown-spots and pencil marks in margin, W.H. Smith Library sticker on front pastedown, 19thC school library stamp on title page. The book was published anonymously, edited by the young man's uncle. Scarce in the original edition.
