About this Item
Small Quarto. 56pp. Original light brown wraps with dark brown lettering on cover. Publication issued by he architecture task force of the NSBDT (NS Union of German Technology) during WWII and printed in Brünn, Czechoslovakia, offering answers for architects to create an architecture that is in character with the landscape. The text is composed in the typical totalitarian NS style. One particular passage of the author in the intro strikes the reader as two-faced in view of the prosecution of so many well know nonconformist artists: 'With the landscape we are destroying the power of the creatively gifted; the very musicians, poets, painters and thinker, technicians and craftsmen who were called to create a great culture.' Profusely illustrated with beautiful b/w landscape and architectural photographs depicting architectural details including commercial and residential buildings, drawings and topographical maps. Among the architects are Hermann Geisler, Paul Bonatz, Schultze-Naumburg, Wilhelm Tiedje and Albert Speer among others. A few photographic examples of architectural 'how not to do it' at rear. Text in German. Wrappers with light wear along edges. Previous owner's stamp on free front endpaper. Wrappers in overall good+, interior in very good condition. Seller Inventory # 37180
