Illustrated with 25 full-page etchings (including text leaves and the title-page) printed recto only. The gossamer quality of his etchings stood in contrast to the thickly painted surfaces and generally somber color of his oil paintings, which reflected his admiration for Courbet and Cézanne. Segonzac's work is held in the permanent collections of several museums worldwide, including the British Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The play staged Théâtre Grand Guignol, March 3, 1923. Publisher s original glassine and vellum wrappers, paper wrappers, in loose gatherings as issued creasing to glassine, slight soiling to inner wrapper, rear outer wrapper creased at upper corner.
