About this Item
First edition. ~9.5"x 6" softcover in stiff card covers with French flaps. 54pp. with black and white photo plates. Clean, internally unmarked, tightly bound. Traces of rubbing to covers, a notable scuff to rear cover not affecting text. Mild edgewear. Being a posthumously published autobiography / photobook of the model and dancer Kim Harlow, with images from a photoshoot on which she collaborated with French photographer Bettina Rheims. Harlow gives a frank and compelling account of her experience as a gender nonconforming trans person: in her words a "transsexual" - neither man nor woman - and notably an early firsthand account of gender-affirming bottom surgery. The photographs in this volume, from a single shoot in collaboration with Rheims, depict the model first posing in womenswear in progressive states of undress until she finally dons a men's suit. An uncommon example of this moving book, in very good overall condition. Seller Inventory # ABE-1685652226163
