1886 1st edition. 194pp. Fair/None. Green cloth boards with leather spine and corners, some rubbing to edges/spine, some wear/chipping to leather, minor damp marking, a little lifting to cloth. Contents generally clean & tight but for minor browning/soiling. Owners name inside front cover. Lovely B&W illustrations throughout. A lovely book giving details of Christian Saints according to their specific Saint's day - this volume covers January to April - even though the title page and introduction allude to it only covering January, so I presume it is 4 small volumes bound in one. For each month there is an alphabetical list of saints, a chronological list of saints' days and information about the Communion of Saints. Information includes short lives of the saints, their emblems as represented in religious art, flowers dedicated to them, the countries, cities, arts, professions and trades under their patronage, heraldic emblems associated with them, and the resting places of their relics. The more important saints have extended biographies with illustrations. Very scarce. Seller Inventory # 007533
