About this Item
Original Japanese binding, some wear, nics and abrasion. Tear to upper left corner of upper board. Title plate intact. Small nic to the bottom edge of the upper board and following pages. Contents in nice condition, with only a few small marks. Bound in the ori-hon (accordion-style folding book) style. The colophon does not mention the date of publication, but it is most probably Meiji 20-30s period. An illustrated, woodblock-printed book on the customs of the red-light district in Japan, with many pictures of oiran. Painted by artist Sokyushi [Saito Shuho]. A Meiji period book published by famous design printing house Unsodo. The former title was `Kishi Enpu`. Comes with non-original slipcase. Text in Japanese. Seller Inventory # 421
