Limited edition of 1000 copies. Ward [1830-1910] was an American sculpture with an impressive list of sculptural accomplishments visible today, such as, George Washington on the steps of Federal Hall in NYC, James A. Garfield monument in Washington, D.C. as well as many others over his career. Ward was a founder and president of the National Sculpture Society (1893-1904) and president of the National Academy of Design (1874), and he was one of the first trustees in 1897 for the American Academy in Rome. Sml 4to (7 1/2 x 11 1/4"), brown cloth boards, gilt text on spine and front, 64 pp with an additional 15 full page b/w photographic illustrations of his work. Spine rubbed at head/foot,corners bumped, untrimmed edges, interior clean, binding tight. Seller Inventory # 21317
