A tight near fine, copy with a bumped corner and a previous owner's signature otherwise unmarked., in a bright clipped very good+ dust jacket with small chipping to the spine ends. Jacob Hamblin and his little band of stalwarts were the first white men after Escalante to cross the Colorado and penetrate the weird and fearsome land of the Navajo and Hopi - a land which in 1858 was as little known to Americans as the valleys of the moon.
