A very good copy of this title covering the "history and techniques of book illustration" from illustrated manuscripts through to the 20th Century. Dust Jacket: buff coloured paper with black lettering to all faces, red wood-cuts to front and black and white sample of printed page to rear; very clean for its age; some darkening to spine; pumping to all edges and 2" tear to rear at flap fold; overall in good condition for its age (now protected). Cover: yellow cloth covered boards with red wood-cuts to front and rear and red lettering to spine; very bright and clean for its age; perhaps slightest fading to edges but overall in very good condition, for its age, with few signs of shelf wear. Internally: very clean and tightly bound; small stamp to title page for BLDSC BOOKNET - Redistributed material; slight fading/rubbing to edge of title itself; very faint name of a previous owner to front paste-down; no other markings or book plates; slightest darkening to page edges; generally in excellent condition for its age. 9 half-tone plates, a collotype plate and numerous line-drawn illustrations. 160 pp. Seller Inventory # 002968
