Association copy of the first edition: though not fully possible to verify, front free endpaper has been rubber-stamped with three red stars - known to be the ownership mark of eminent editor and publisher Elisabeth Sifton (1939-2019). 5.5" x 8" hardcover book in mauve quarter-cloth and grey boards with paper dustjacket, now in protective mylar covering. Little discernible wear to DJ under mylar besides a tiny bit of wear to lower edges. Boards fresh, corners sharp. Page interiors slightly age-toned, else crisp. Binding sound, unmarked save ownership stamp. Very attractive copy of this 1977 collection of verse by John Ashbery. Seller Inventory # ABE-1688841433439
