Pages have mild tanning and foxing throughout, moderate at end-papers, paste-downs and text-block edges. Previous owner's inscription to title page. Library plates and pocket to rear free end-paper and paste-down. Binding remains firm. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped jacket has light edge-wear with tears and creasing. Rear flap has been trimmed.
