British Puffin Books edition, first printing, 1961. First thus. Soft cover. No jacket as issued. 284 pages plus 4 pages of adverts to rear. Cover illustration by Pauline Baynes. Pictorial cover is very good with minor patchy rubbing, minor pushing/creasing to corners, price to front (3'6) partially obscured by pen with a new price beside, the odd very small mark and a little rubbing/pushing to head/tail of spine. Pages are generally clean and the binding is tight. Pages are tanned (as is usual with this title). Previous owner's name in pen inside front cover. Odd small marks/spots of foxing/small scratches to page edges, tops and bottoms. Tiny (approx. 1mm) tear/bump to edge of a couple of pages. Inside front/back covers have a few small marks/patchy browning/few spots of foxing. Occasional small mark/spot of foxing to pages. No other faults. A nice copy.
