There is brief reference to the death of the author's brother Alastair at the Battle of Arras in April 1917. 502 pages. Bound in red cloth with gold lettering and a gold regimental badge on the front. There is a frontispiece and 11 other illustrations as well as 36 maps. The outer and lower edges are uncut. The spine is faded and is rubbed at the ends. There is a narrow faded strip along the bottom edge of the front cover and a faded area on the rear adjacent to the spine. The covers have one or two small marks. There is a bookplate on the front paste-down. Seller Inventory # 8891
