About this Item
Written by Ella Fuller Maitland. Published by Digby, Long and Co. in 1893. A First Edition. As far as I can make out from the signature the illustrator would appear to be M. Stretch. Size: 22 x 16 cms. Page number: 57. Hardcover. Blue cloth covers with gilt lettering to the front and spine and a black, pale blue and buff coloured illustration on the front. Within two stories decorated with four full-page black and white illustrations, plus black and white chapter headings and other details. Condition: Very Good. The base of front cover is damaged, perhaps by damp or water. This does not affect the contents of the book. The pages are clean and, but for a few spots of foxing on the end block, remain unmarked. There are two cracks in the hinge, and one end paper would appear to be missing; but aside from this the binding remains secure. An uncommon book that I cannot find for sale elsewhere.
