A fine copy in fine second issue wrapper.The wrapper is original to the book. Herbert Jenkins practise was to issue the first at 7/6 or 3/6 and then 12-18 months later all unsold firsts were married to a popular wrapper and sold at 2/6 ,so where Mcilvaine states a print run of 10,000 for the first perhaps as few as 25% had a first wrapper ,the balance going out with the popular one. The bibliography states cheap edition but I have never seen one and it is a term the British Library used for popular or second editions In the 20's and 30's 7/6 was a lot of money and many Wodehouse readers waited for the popular edition .Collectors did not really discover him until the 60/70's, when modern firsts started to gain value Firsts are now becoming out of reach for many collectors so there is now a secondary market developing.
