Osgood) & in the UK (by Henry S. King). Contains 12 full-page illustrations, complete with tissue guards, as issued. The illustration listed at page 11 is bound in as frontispiece. Complete copy, with all endpapers, title page, dedication page (To the Right Hon. Lord Lytton), "Show-Day at Battle Abbey 1876" poem, Dramatis Personae, list of illustrations, followed by Act 1, etc. With one page of publisher's ads at rear for editions of Tennyson's poems & separate works. Sterotyped & printed by Rand, Avery, & Company, Boston. Nicely bound in publisher's original full brown cloth, elaborate gilt & black lettering & design to front board & spine, blind-ruled borders to rear board, dark green endpapers. Slight handling wear, faint spotting to boards, mild wear to spine ends & tips, former owner's contemporary ink notation to first blank ("W.W. Wright Kelley, Philadelphia, Penn., September 15, 1885"), small handwritten label to upper corner of front pastedown, otherwise overall a nice clean tight solid hardcover copy. 170pp. Uncommon Author's Edition in nice presentable original binding.
