About this Item
40 pp. An extremely rare issue of the literary journal edited by Charles Bukowski's first wife, Barbara Fry, with less than 10 copies currently known to exist. Features eleven pieces of poetry and prose by Bukowski. Bound in publisher's plain white wraps with title printed in black on front cover. Very Good+ with light toning and soiling, slight creasing. Erased pencil price to top corner of front cover, and small date penciled to top corner of first page. One of Bukowski's rarest early appearances in the little magazines of the 1950s and '60s, where he was already given the star-treatment by its editor, his wife. Undoubtedly a stopper for any Bukowski completist, as well as a good glimpse of his early work. Includes the pieces "Essay On The Wine-Gnat," "For They Had Things To Say," "The Rapist's Story," "Sun Coming Down," "The Piano That Ate A Man, A Shirt And A Lion," "On A Night You Don't Sleep", "80 Airplanes Don't Put You In The Clear," "Did I Ever Tell You?," "Death Wants More Death," "The Editors Say," and "My Father." Three of Bukowski's pieces here have not appeared elsewhere. Seller Inventory # 140940395
