About this Item
A detailed review of the then-British colonial state of North Borneo, now part of Malaysia, with details of the history, geography, climate, population, various elements of the economy, sport, natural history administration, communications and statistical information. An interesting chapter at the end of the volume provides a view of opportunities for Western capitalists and settlers in the territory. The present volume comprises a significant update and expansion over an earlier (1921) edition. Red cloth with gold stamped title and crest. Cover is a little discoloured along the upper front and rear edges. Spine top slightly frayed. A 1 cm. tear and crease in back page, not effecting any text. Slight yellowing around the perimeter of interior pages. Interior otherwise clean, crisp and unmarked. Now rare. 142 pp, 7 b&w photos, bibliography, index, large fold-out map, front and rear end papers include 9 pages of advertisements. 142 pp, 7 b&w photos, bibliography, index, large fold-out map, front and rear end papers include 9 pages of advertisements.
