A small hardback,1816 by local author, of his poem about Greenfield in Saddleworth,and a Historical Sketch of Saddleworth.It is a very scarce local work and if fragile but intact.The binding is weak and pages are grubby from handling.The engravings (by James Bottomley)may not be in the correct order and have been stuck back in with bits of sticky paper but they are all there.It has an owners inscription of James Schofield of Greenfield on the endpaper.It is a first edition in this form with the history.The poem itself was published in 1795 on its own and the History added in 1816.
