(London: Selwyn and Blount (1928) Ltd., 1929). First UK Edition, 8vo., pp.288. Publisher's blue-grey cloth lettered in gilt to the spine. 8 b/w plates. Page edges foxed (as usual) which has crept into the text in places, a bookseller's ticket to the front paste-down,faint offsetting to both sets of end-papers; and a tiny nick in the cloth at the head of the spine, Boards bright and clean. No inscriptions. In the VERY RARE price-clipped first issue with VG dustwrapper with creasing/touch of loss at the spine tips and the corners. Great period atmospheric dustwrapper art. A much copy than normally seen of this collection of short stories including ghosts, hauntings, legends, and mysterious happenings along the Thames. Some of the stories included in the book are "The Ghost of the Palace of Whitehall," "The Haunted Tower of London," "The Phantom Ship of the Thames," and "The Mysterious Death of Lord William Russell."
