About this Item
Near fine copy of what appears to be a pirated edition of Steinbeck's great novel. It's cheaply made and has the look of having been photographically reproduced from an American edition. There is no publication date cited but the copy on the inside flap refers to the book as recently published. On the front end paper a previous owner has pasted photos of six stars of John Ford's 1941 film adaptation, including Henry Fonda and Jane Darwell. The publisher is identified only by a label affixed to the rear end paper. The binding is square and tight, but the paper inferior. Some notations in pen to a few of the earlier pages. The simple jacket has some wear to the extremities and some areas of loss. Also a label with the number "98" affixed to the bottom of the spine. Overall, this is a charming and intriguing curio.
