About this Item
Atheneum, New York, 1986, 282 pages. B&W photos throughout. "In the early days, Gettin to the Dance Floor meant scraping together enough cash to eat and buy gasoline, or scrounging a ride to the next tournament in a beat-up jalopy over corrugated highways or find space among half a dozen others in a fleabag motel room, or searching for a better golf swing with nowhere to practice and no time to do it. Most of all, it meant keeping a club job and a family afloat while gypsying around the country for half the year in the middle of the Depression" (from dj). Maroon boards with embossed title plus red cloth spine with gilt lettering. Pictorial cream DJ with photos. Condition: Very Good- in Very Good+ DJ, First Edition.Front endpaper torn out; otherwise fine. DJ has edges toned. Seller Inventory # 5166
