Complete with all twenty full page photogravures [includes the portrait of Gerome] with their captioned paper guards intact, and twenty five full page photo-process reproductions of his paintings and sculpture, together with fifty pencil-drawings made especially for this book and executed by Boussod, Valadon & Co., successors to Goupil. [2], vii, [3], 288pp printed on fine glossy paper, bound in gilt decorated mustard colour cloth, bevelled edges, all edges gilt, with the gilt still bright, binding tight, silk moire endpapers, front inner hinge restitched. OVERSIZED, measuring 18" tall by 14 1/2" wide. Ex-library with small paper label on spine, no pocket, small labels indicating the library information, with small ink stamp on the title page, and full page plates, not interfering with the images.
