About this Item
The Garden at No. 19 by Edgar Jepson. Published in 1910 by Wessells & Bissell Co. First edition, first printing. In original green boards with white lettering and an embossed pictorial scene on the front cover. Octavo. ***A classic occult novel reprinted numerous times, this is the RARE 1st edition, 1st printing.*** Condition: VERY GOOD ABOUT THE BOOK A London bachelor who has come into a little money buys a house in Hertford Park. He soon discovers that an air of mystery hangs about the place, and that the other houses in the street, with the exception of No. 19, and its beautiful garden, are empty. Strange sounds and odors, and stranger emanations of an indefinable nature, assail him from this garden. He finds the house is occupied by a young girl and her morose uncle. The book is in VERY GOOD condition - strong binding, firm hinges and joints, rubbed boards, spine tips, and corners. Endpaper foxing, no writing, stickers or ex libris marks. A few pages have light creases and some areas of wear mid-way through the book. I have bought and sold books and art on eBay for over a decade and have a 100% satisfaction rating. I am now selling on ABE Books. I m a collector first and know what it's like to receive items not matching the seller s descriptions or that were poorly packaged and damaged in transit. That is why I offer a 100% satisfaction, money back guarantee, and go to great lengths to accurately describe my rare, signed and collectible books and post pictures of the "actual book." I carefully package and ship your newly acquired treasure(s) and ship within 1 business day of receiving your order. Seller Inventory # 23112504
