Battle Hymn of the Republic illustrated endpapers. Binding and hinges are sound. Light soiling and toning to endpapers. RFEP has a minor textural scuff. Light shelf-rubbing at tips. Cloth panels and backstrip show soiling. $2.75 price intact on flap. DJ is bright and clean. This DJ has been married to this first printing. While DJ has the correct price intact on flap, $2.75, the first edition statement on DJ flap corner has been removed. The edge of the DJ flap references the Book League; not on a first printing DJ. Rubbing along edges and folds. DJ spine has open chips that have been professional repaired using Japanese paper filler. A sturdy, first edition, first printing in an original later state DJ.
