Editions of 75 copies only. A complete set of the true first editions of these six articles, these American copyright issues preceding the first newspaper publication in The Daily Telegraph and in various American and European newspapers. The articles were written at the instance of the British Ministry of Information to describe the activities of smaller units of the Navy employed at its 'fringes' - submarines, destroyers, and various auxiliary vessels. In addition to the title-article, each pamphlet includes one of Kipling's poems. The set comprises : I and II: The Auxiliary Fleet; III and IV: Submarines; Vand VI: Patrols. The accompanying poems appear here without titles, but were later collected with the following titles: The Lowestoft Boat; Minesweepers; Harwich Ladies; Tin Fish; A Song in Storm; and North Sea Patrol.
