There is mild bumping to the lower tips and the spine-ends and there are a few faint specks atop the textblock, otherwise clean, tight, square, and bright. No previous ownership markings. The dustjacket, glossy in a mylar sleeve, is rubbed -- particularly along the folds -- and has modest wear with attendant creasing at the extremities; there is very little of the usual fading of the spine. The original price is intact. A nice copy of the author's second novel. The Feast of Lupercal was an expiatory Roman festival, celebrating the god of fertility. Although many will find in this novel an indictment of the sterility of life in Ireland, it is the figure of Diarmuid Devine that will evoke in most readers a deep human response.
