About this Item
This book has been considered by academicians and scholars to be of great significance to literature, and the knowledge base of civilization, as well as culturally important to Great Britain. From the preface by A. H. Malan: "It so adds to the pleasure of going over some stately residence, to know something about its history and contents beforehand." The original articles and respective papers appeared in the pages of the British Magazine "Pall Mall" in the 1880's & 90's. Revised and collected into this volume by A. H. Malan in 1899 and published by G. P. Putnam's Sons in 1900. An informative and respected addition to any collector of, or any fan of British history. The photos and drawings alone are worth the price to any history buff. Very Good condition; dinged corners on front and back boards.
