Vol 1 has 463pp, vol 2 455pp. hard marbled boards with 1/2 green leather, gold tooling to spine - minor rubbing/bumping to edges/spines, some rubbing scuffing to marbling and leather on both volumes, one leather corner missing from Vol 1. Contents clean and tight in both vols but for very minor soiling/foxing. Pencil inscription inside ffep of vol 1. Marbled endpapers and page edges. A few B&W illustrations. 2 volumes as issued. Observations about Parisien life and the environs of Paris, written by a former Lieutenant-Governor of Upper Canada (1835-38). Head stayed in Paris for a few months in 1851 and was keen to experience the city as a native rather than as a tourist. Author's name is not given in these volumes, and didn't appear until the 3rd edition. Seller Inventory # 007061
