Octavo, green cloth spine over green and orange pictorial boards with a depiction of a no-man's land of barbed wire and a mortar blast. Includes black and white photo reproductions; also a folding map in rear (with a couple of small tears) illustrating breastworks and a system of underground galleries. The author was an American, formerly of the Royal British Engineers before the U.S. entered the war, and then later captain of engineers, U.S.A. Wear at cover corners. 090617A.
